Choose Grace and Life
1 Kings 10-11; 2 Chronicles 9; Romans 6
“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires…rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life…you are not under law, but under grace.”
Romans 6:12-14
Following Jesus is not just a matter of knowing the Bible or of studying; it is also surrendering our will and our thoughts to Jesus. Sin desires to rule over us and drive our behavior, even though we have given our lives to Jesus. We give the world, the flesh and the devil authority in our lives when we surrender our thoughts and behavior to sin. The choice of which authority we submit to is ours. The way of Jesus is the way of grace - grace that we receive from Jesus in the forgiveness of our sins, and daily grace to willingly choose to submit to and follow Jesus in all we do. Jesus is our life.
Why would we choose to follow sin and death any longer?
