Possessing our Full Rights

Deuteronomy 22-24; Galatians 4

“What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate... But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son…that we might receive the full rights of sons.”

Galatians 4:1, 4, 5

Those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ are heirs of salvation and the promises of God. We have been adopted into God’s family with the full rights of sons and daughters.

Does this describe how we see ourselves?

Are we living as though the authority, intimacy, and freedom of being children of God were ours?

Is there anything usurping or robbing us of our full rights as heirs of salvation and the promises of God?

Are we still living with the immaturity of a ‘works righteousness’ worldview like those Paul describes as being under the law?

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. It’s time to discover and stand firm in our full rights as God’s children.

“Lord Jesus, thank you for your mission to purchase my freedom and the freedom of all who will place their faith in you, for your glory.”
