Jesus Leads

 Isaiah 11-14; Hebrews 9

“A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him-…He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked…In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.”

Isaiah 11:1, 2, 4, 10

The clear message in this prophetic Word describing the first and second coming of Jesus is that Jesus is leading.

Is Jesus really our leader in a Church culture enamored with the under-shepherds?

Is Jesus personally leading our lives through his Word?

Are we listening to him?

Are we so focused on our best practices in ministry and emulating the models of others that Jesus has been reduced to a figure head?

Do we know the rod of his mouth and the breath of his lips?

Are we rallying to his banner, or are we asking him to rally to our banners?

Is Jesus practically leading in our lives and ministries?

He is the key to fruitfulness, effectiveness, and rest.

Today, will we surrender all to Jesus, our branch and banner?

“Lord Jesus, you are my leader and I will follow and obey you this day, for your glory.”
