Obeying Christ, or Anti-Christ?

Jeremiah 21, 24, 27; Psalms 118; 1 John 2

“Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us…But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth…Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist – he denies the Father and the Son.”

1 John 2:18-22

In the last days, John warns the Church that there will be church attenders who do not confess Jesus as Savior and Lord, and who, by their actions and words are actually anti-Christ. They are against Christ. This describes all other world religions and cults who deny Jesus as Christ. However, we must not be naïve, thinking that all who attend our churches share our love for Jesus Christ. The faithful followers of Jesus Christ have an anointing from the Holy Spirit to understand the Word and hear their Shepherd speaking. They know the truth and obey it because they love the truth. The children of God love humility and are growing in humility because they recognize Christ’s authority in their lives and in his Church.

“Lord Jesus, you my King and leader, I submit to your authority in the Church and humble myself before you. I pray for discernment and wisdom regarding the spirit of antichrist in these last days, for your glory.”
