Writing on Hearts
2 Corinthians 3-6
“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
1 Corinthians 3:2, 3
It’s a humbling truth that our ministry is evidenced in the lives of those we are serving and pointing to Jesus. It is the Spirit of the living God that does the writing on their hearts and it is the Spirit of the living God who does the work of transformation; but, we are the ambassadors of truth God uses in the process.
What would people, who look only at the lives of those in whom we have invested, discover or learn about what we believe?
Paul’s dependency was on the Spirit of God to reproduce Christ’s DNA in those he was teaching and discipling, even as Paul himself was experiencing ongoing transformation from glory to glory.
How closely do those in whose lives we are investing and discipling resemble the image of Christ?
“Lord Jesus, reproduce your life and character in me and in those I’m serving for your glory.”
