Where is Our Inheritance?

Numbers 17-18; Psalms 29; Mark 4  

“The Lord said to Aaron, ‘You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.’”

Numbers 18:20

The Levites and the descendants of Aaron were dedicated to the service of the Lord. He was their inheritance. Jesus’ call to his disciples was to lay down everything and follow him. They, too, were to find their inheritance in Christ. While this is still Christ’s call to all who will follow him, those in vocational ministry experience the reality of Jesus as they share their portion, their inheritance, at another level. When we focus on our earthly inheritance, we find our heart and attention are here. When we live for an eternal inheritance our heart and thoughts and focus turn there.

What is the term of return on our current inheritance investments - short term, long term, or eternal?
