Jesus Brought Us Peace

 Isaiah 53-56; 2 Peter 2 

“But he was pierced for our transgressions he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5

Our peace and healing came at a price. The punishment for our sins and selfish behavior was carried by Jesus to the cross so we could experience healing and peace with God and others. In every conflict someone must initiate reconciliation for healing to occur. In our conflict with sin, God through his holiness, took the initiative and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice. The deep wounding in the various conflict zones around the world can only be healed by intervention that is costly. Someone must take initiative in reconciliation. In Christ we have the message and ministry of reconciliation. Peace is possible in every conflict if we will receive Christ’s gift of peace and healing.

Where is God inviting us to apply this in our lives and in our prayers for the world?

“Lord Jesus, you are our peace, for your glory.”
