“Peace Be With You”

Jeremiah 26, 35, 36; John 20

“…Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’…Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’”

John 20:19, 21-23

The presence of Jesus brings peace! We are sent like Jesus into the world with the presence of peace and a message of peace. The breath, or wind, of God is the Holy Spirit who indwells us with peace. With the power of the Holy Spirit, we can forgive others and love our enemies. This very practical demonstration of peace transforms lives and communities.

Have we experienced the breath of Jesus in our lives through the person of the Holy Spirit?

We will know the Holy Spirit indwells us through the presence of deep inner peace and the love to graciously walk in forgiveness. Living this mission in the conflicts of our world will point people to Jesus.

“Lord Jesus, you are my peace, and your Spirit expresses your peace through me, for your glory.”
