What Will We Choose?

 1 Kings 4-5; 2 Chronicles 2; Psalms 101; 2 Thessalonians 3

“I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with a blameless heart. I will set before my eyes no vile thing. The deeds of faithless men I hate; they will not cling to me. Men of perverse heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with evil.”

Psalm 101:2-4

Can we imagine a world where every Christ-follower prayed this prayer and lived out this intention?

We can’t determine the world’s standards on sexuality, lust, perversion, and evil; but, we can decide which standards we will live with in our own homes. David’s commitment was to live a blameless life because he knew God’s ways and he highly valued the Lord’s presence in his life and home. David recognized that watching vile acts defiles those who watch.

What choices will we make regarding what we watch in a world that celebrates perversion, adultery, immorality, and blasphemy?

When we entertain these values in video and the internet, they cling to us.

Will we, too, choose to have nothing to do with evil?

“Lord Jesus, I choose purity and I choose your presence. Fill my home and family with your love and holiness, for your glory.”
