Celebrating God’s Love

Isaiah 57-59; Psalms 103; 2 Peter 3

“Praise the Lord, O my soul;…who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,…For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;…from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,…”

Psalm 103:1, 3, 4, 11, 17

Why is God’s love to those who fear him to be celebrated?

To fear God is to live in awe, wonder, and submission to him because of the saving power of his love for us. We celebrate God’s love because it has no limit just like the heavens above us. We celebrate God’s love because it has no end. God’s love is everlasting! We celebrate God’s love because he has graciously forgiven and forgotten our sins, healed our diseases, redeemed us from the pit of death and now his love crowns our heads. We wear the crown of love when we live under the hand of God.

Have we celebrated this incredible love recently?

“Lord Jesus, you are God’s message of love to me and to the world, for your glory.”
