His Name is the Word of God

Revelation 19-22 

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.”

Revelation 19:11-13, 15, 21 

Ultimate justice is coming! It is the Word of God which is the standard of truth. It is the Word of God which is faithful and true. It is the Word of God who will judge the nations. It is the Word of God who we are called to listen to and follow. Too many think the word of God is a book to be exegeted and explained rather than a person worthy of our lives. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  Are we allowing this sharp sword to cut our lives, or just cut others? Are we speaking the Word or the word?

“Lord Jesus, you are the living Word! Listening to you and obeying you is the way, the truth, and the life. I trust the fulfillment of your Word in these last days, for your glory.”
