They Triumphed

Revelation 10-14 

“’They overcame [triumphed over] him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.’”

Revelation 12:11

The spiritual battle Christ faced against Satan is also faced by every follower of Jesus. We can triumph in this battle because Jesus triumphed. It is the ongoing cleansing blood of Christ in our lives which frees us from the accusations of Satan. It is our clear testimony of the gospel’s power to free, deliver, and transform us in the way we daily live and share. It is our experience of death-to-self, our life of sin at the point of salvation, and our ongoing willingness to lay down our life for the sake of Christ and his gospel that marks Christ’s overcomers. We don’t fear death, because we know eternal life through Christ’s presence within us. We triumph in life and death because Jesus the Lamb of God has triumphed!

Where is Jesus inviting us to apply his triumph to our lives in new ways and at new levels?

“Lord Jesus, you are my victory. Live through me, for your glory.”
