Looking Like Jesus
Proverbs 4-6; Romans 8
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
Romans 8:28, 29
God’s good work in all things in our lives is that we would be conformed to the likeness of Christ. This process of transformation, or sanctification, requires humility to receive rebuke, counsel, and correction. In the pain and the joy of life we know God is at work in our lives, molding and shaping us. We were predestined for the sanctification process so that we can trust God in the midst of our trials and tests. There is a higher purpose than our happiness and success in life. We are being shaped into the image of Christ.
Can we affirm that purpose of God in our lives and cooperate with him through listening, reflecting, obeying, and repeating, as we invite the Spirit of God to lead us?
This transforming life in the Spirit is worth it!
“Lord Jesus, thank you. You are doing good things in me in all circumstances, for your glory.”
