Everything Will Live
Ezekiel 47-48; Luke 2
“Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live…Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail…”
Ezekiel 47:9, 12
Where the river flows, everything will live! Jesus said to thirsty, religious people, “…come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him [them] (John 7:37, 38).
By this he meant the Spirit whom those who believed in him were later to receive.
Are we thirsty for this life of God’s Spirit and presence?
As we are daily filled with the Spirit this infilling is not just for our strengthening and encouragement. We carry rivers of living water so that life would be experienced by all who meet us this day. Salty people will be refreshed! Fruit will be enjoyed, and healing will transform lives throughout the nations. Living water must flow and wherever it flows, life is experienced. This is our inheritance through Jesus the Life-giver.
