Do Not be Afraid
Job 13-14; Acts 17-18
“One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: ‘Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.’ So Paul stayed [in Corinth] for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.”
Acts 18:9-11
The Lord Jesus gave Paul his mission-assignments and was going before him in the strategy.
When Jesus told Paul, “I have many people in this city,” were those people already saved, or about to become saved?
Regardless, Paul, and we, are participating in God’s mission as we live as disciples who make disciples of all nations. Fear could have derailed Paul’s assignment as well as ours. The Word of the Lord to us today is “do not be afraid.” In whatever context we are today, be bold and ask the Lord for a word in season. We are not alone.
“Lord Jesus, thank you for your Word and Spirit empowering me on mission today, for your glory.”
