Gospel Partnerships

Philippians 1-4

“I thank God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 1:3-6

What makes ‘gospel partnerships’ unique?

They begin with a “good work” that God is accomplishing in us before any work through us. The gospel must be lived each day as we conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of this gospel (Philippians 1:27). Our attitude of servanthood, death-to-self, and obedience to the Father’s will should be the same as that of Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). As we daily seek to follow Jesus in all of life, we find joy in partnering with others who are also living on mission (with Jesus). Gospel partnerships are forged and strengthened in the presence of God. It is God who brings us together for his purposes, and it is before God’s throne that we pray for one another. Gospel partnerships are eternal relationships that are living in expectation of the day of Christ Jesus’ return.

“Lord Jesus, thank you for gospel partnerships, for your glory.”
